چکیده
There were a few errors in the paper which are corrected as follows. 1. Page 1231, line 4 from the bottom, the sentence after " which is defined as z 0 such that " should be revised as " ρ(W (ω, 0, z 0)) = 1 which can be calculated and detailed computations are given in the Appendix ". 2. Page 1239, line 6 from the bottom, " 226,920 " should be replaced by " 226,890 " .

Modeling seasonal rabies epidemics in China.
Human rabies, an infection of the nervous system, is a major public-health problem in China. In the last 60 years (1950-2010) there had been 124,255 reported human rabies cases, an average of 2,037 cases per year. However, the factors and mechanisms behind the persistence and prevalence of human rabies have not become well understood. The monthly data of human rabies cases reported by the Chine...
متن کاملMathematical modeling, analysis and simulation of Ebola epidemics
Mathematical models are the most important tools in epidemiology to understand previous outbreaks of diseases and to better understand the dynamics of how infections spread through populations. Many existing models closely approximate historical disease patterns. This article investigates the mathematical model of the deadly disease with severe and uncontrollable bleeding, Ebola which is...
متن کاملMolecular Epidemiology of Rabies in Southern People’s Republic of China
In recent years, the number of human rabies cases in the People's Republic of China has increased during severe epidemics in 3 southern provinces (Guizhou, Guangxi, and Hunan). To analyze the causes of the high incidence of human rabies in this region, during 2005-2007, we collected 2,887 brain specimens from apparently healthy domestic dogs used for meat consumption in restaurants, 4 specimens...
متن کاملMolecular Phylodynamic Analysis Indicates Lineage Displacement Occurred in Chinese Rabies Epidemics between 1949 to 2010
Rabies remains a serious problem in China with three epidemics since 1949 and the country in the midst of the third epidemic. Significantly, the control of each outbreak has been followed by a rapid reemergence of the disease. In 2005, the government implemented a rabies national surveillance program that included the collection and screening of almost 8,000 samples. In this work, we analyzed a...
متن کاملAllometric scaling and seasonality in the epidemics of wildlife diseases.
We present a susceptibles-exposed-infectives (SEI) model to analyze the effects of seasonality on epidemics, mainly of rabies, in a wide range of wildlife species. Model parameters are cast as simple allometric functions of host body size. Via nonlinear analysis, we investigate the dynamical behavior of the disease for different levels of seasonality in the transmission rate and for different v...
